How Is Visitation Determined?
A judge will make decisions regarding visitation rights based on what is in the best interests of the child. Typically, this means that parental preferences and opinions are trumped by the situations that prioritize the child’s care. The best interest of a child can be influenced by numerous factors.

Questions
-
What Is Supervised Visitation?
Answer
Visitation agreements can come in many forms and supervised visitation is one such variant. Here, a judge may award the non-custodial parent time with the child; however, the parent cannot do so alone. These agreements may also specify conditions such as the duration and location of such visits.
-
Can a Grandparent Be Granted Visitation?
Answer
Yes. However, the situations where a judge may grant one or more grandparents visitation rights can be highly specific. As with most cases involving child custody and visitation, a judge will make decisions based on what is in the best interest of the child.
-
Can I Modify an Existing Agreement?
Answer
While it can be difficult to change an agreement, it may be possible to secure a modification. Typically, a judge will grant a modification only if it can be shown that a substantial change in circumstances has occurred since the original order was issued. Denise Norman
Attorney at Law
Denise Norman founded The Law Office of Denise Norman in 2011 with the goal of providing compassionate legal guidance to individuals, families and businesses in her hometown community. Since that time, our law office has fulfilled this goal time and again, helping the good people of the local community resolve their legal matters with professionalism and honesty.
Before completing a double major at Sam Houston State University, Denise graduated from Conroe High School in 1998. She then graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2007 with her Juris Doctor and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas immediately afterward. Upon passing the bar, Denise and her husband started their family before Denise went into private practice. Now with a family of six, they are frequently involved not only in their children’s school and extracurricular activities. Denise also remains active with the Conroe Noon Lions’ Club, the Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce and the Montgomery County Bar Association.
As an attorney, Denise understands that many individuals only seek legal counsel during the worst periods of their lives. She is also aware that many people do not have a chance to prepare themselves mentally, emotionally and financially prior to being thrust into conflicts within the legal system. Our goal is to bear the burden of the legal system and to provide our clients with the information they need to relieve the stress and anxiety of the often daunting court processes. We are committed to treating you in the manner we would treat our own loved ones.
